ACCA student goes for gold at Olympics
会计学生Ed McKeever将会参加200米皮划艇比赛。
8月10日ACCA（特许公认会计师公会）学生Ed McKeever 将会战胜Dorney Water, Eton，开始他K1 200米的皮划艇征程。
过去2年来，Ed在竞技的同时不忘学习。他已通过了F段开始，现正参加P段考试。在这期间，他还赢得了世界和欧洲冠军杯还有世界杯的比赛。
ACCA 英国会长Andrew Leck 说：“我们常说，只有那些努力和有决心的的学生才能通过我们的资质，Ed就是最佳表率。他在训练、竞技、取得世界第一的同时参加并通过了考试。ACCA 的灵活性让Ed将竞技和学习结合在一起。
“ACCA 的每一个人都在下周为Ed寄予厚望,希望他能为大不列颠带回金牌。”
Ed McKeever说：“学业结束后，我的数学和商科结果还不错。我想有什么东西能让我取得一份工作，ACCA 应该能助我一臂之力。
“有的人三十多岁了还在参加划艇竞技。我不想干那么久——我想我届时应该会坐在办公桌前了。会计是个崭新的挑战。”
Ed将会参加K1 200米皮划艇，初赛和半决赛将在8月10日星期五，决赛在第二天早上。

Accountancy student Ed McKeever will compete in the 200m kayak sprint
On Friday 10 August, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) student Ed McKeever will take to Dorney Water, Eton, to begin his quest to win the K1 200m sprint kayak.
For the past two years Ed has been combining his studies with competing. He has passed his fundamental papers and is now sitting the professional exams. During that time he has won the World and European Championships as well as World Cup races.
Andrew Leck, head of ACCA UK said: 'Often we talk about how only students of dedication and determination pass our qualification and nothing demonstrates that more than Ed. He has sat and passed his exams while training, competing and beating the world’s best. The flexibility in ACCA’s qualification has allowed Ed to combine studying with competing.
'Everyone at ACCA wishes Ed the best for next week and hope he can bring home the gold for Great Britain.'
Ed McKeever said: 'After finishing school I had quite solid results in maths and business. I wanted something that could get me a job, ACCA seemed like something that would complement my strengths.
'Some people compete in canoeing up until their late thirties. I’m not sure I fancy doing it for that long – I think I’ll be ready to sit at a desk by then. Accountancy will be a whole new challenge.'
Ed will be competing in the K1 200m kayak, the heats and semi finals are on the morning of Friday 10 August, with the final the following morning.

刚结束的奥运会男子单人皮艇200米决赛中，ACCA学员 Ed McKeever（迈克基弗）以36秒246的成绩为英国喜获冠军金牌！恭喜他！！这两年他一边参加训练和国际比赛，一边参加ACCA的学习和考试，他已经通过前九门基础阶段的考试，考到专业阶段啦！真是一位非常励志的ACCAer啊！
